PARENTS NEEDED!!!

Parents,

One of our big goals for this fall is to make sure we keep the Turkey Bowl (a tradition at Lane and a major fundraiser for the athletic department).  If you are unaware, the students buy tickets to attend the students vs. faculty football game right before Thanksgiving break.  They get signed out of 6th, 7th, and 8th period to attend.  In the past, a lot of students have just left and not attended the game.  The administration and athletic department do not want this to be the case. We need to make sure the students are being ushered into the stadium.  It was suggested that we get parents to help.  I am reaching out to the PTSO and I am asking all coaches to reach out to the parents in their respective programs.  Our goal is 70 parents.

The date will either be Friday, November 21st or Tuesday, November 25th.  All that would be asked is that you show up by 12:30 to receive your assignments, stand post at your doorway or stair way and usher students to the correct exits (they will know where to go, we just don't want them sneaking out).  After the building is clear for students that have bought tickets, you are welcome to attend the game or just head home.  We should be done by 1:00 at the latest.

Please let Nick Logalbo (nflogalbo@cps.edu) know if this is something you may be interested in.

Thanks!!

Lettermen Club meeting set for 9/24

The Lettermen Club will have first meeting of the year this Wednesday, September 24th.  This is an informational meeting for any varsity athlete considering joining the club.  Please meet Coach LoGalbo in the cafeteria at 7:00am sharp!

The club's vision is changing this year with a major focus on service and have partnered with the counseling department to help raise awareness for the on-going social/emotional wellness campaign. Our Lettermen are leaders in the building and will be asked to serve the school and community at large.  Please spread the word and we are looking forward to seeing everyone Wednesday!

Girls Swim has big weekend

The ladies performed well Saturday in a tough non-conference matchup with Maine South and Palatine.  The Frosh soph team was victorious over both schools while the Varsity beat  Maine South and tied Palatine.  The JV beat Maine South but fell to Palatine.

Great job ladies!

Go Indians!

Lane Tech wins big over Bogan; teachers honored at halftime

The Lane Tech Football team improved to 2-1 on the season with an impressive 41-6 win over Bogan on Friday night.  The Indians were led by seniors Will Yerkes, Michael Combs, and Jason Santana.

It was also the annual "Teacher Appreciation Game" where over 25 teachers were honored at halftime for their hard work and dedication to Lane Tech (pictured below).  A special thanks to all of the teachers that attended!  We hope to see everyone out at Gately Stadium on Friday as the Indians travel to take on Simeon.
