Girls' Softball Meeting 12/12

There is a Girls Softball Meeting on Wednesday, 12/12/12 at 7:10AM in Room 140 for all girls interested in playing softball this year. 

Congrats to Boys Swimming

Boys Swimming & Diving starts out the season strong with a win over Lincoln Park and Payton/Jones co-op on Friday 11/30; and then took first place at the Maine East Relays blue division on 12/1 outscoring rival Whitney Young.

They will head back to Maine East Friday 12-7-12, to take on Notre Dame and Maine East in a tri-meet. Come out to Maine East Friday at 5 pm and cheer them on to another victory.

Congratulations to Meghan Lavelle

-4th place STATE finish in the 200 IM with a school record of 2:04.77            

 -7th Place STATE finish in the 100 Back with a school record of 56.07

-Scoring 18 points to help Lane place 20th in STATE.

Congratulations to Natalie O'Connell on her school record setting 100 Breast with a time of 1:07.21 and 28th over all finish at state. She also finished 23rd in the 200 IM.

The 2012 Girls Varsity Team Set 9 out of 11 school records this year and all the records have been set over the last two seasons.

With all but one of the top swimmers returning next year, the girls team looks to be even better in the 2013 season. Any 8th grade swimmers that are interested in joining the team for their freshman year should contact Coach Rummelhoff.

Please bring a current IHSA Physical to the meeting.

Congratulations to our Fall Teams!

Congratulation to the Varsity Girls Swimming City Championship Team that outscored Northside swimming by 37 points. The girls broke 6 city records and won 7 out of 11 events! Lane's JV Girl's Swimming Team also won the City Championship. Special Congratulations goes to the following girls:

-Captain Meghan Levelle, won and set 2 school and city records in her individual events and was part of both 1^st place city record setting relays.

-Natalie O’Connell, won her 2 individual events and set a city record in the 200 IM. She was also part of both 1^st place relays that set city records.

-Ally Cortez, defended her 1^st place finish from last year in the 500 free and was part of the city record setting 400 free relay.

-Captain Jessica Tarnacki, life time best in her individual events and was part of the 1^st place city record setting 200 medley relay.

Come out Saturday to Fenwick at 1:00p and cheer the girls on to state.

Congratulations to the Boys' Soccer Team for a great season and for advancing into the State Playoffs. A special congratulations to Jose Fuentes for being named to the Chicago Sun-Times 3rd Team All-Area!

Girls Softball team meeting

Any girl interested in trying out for the Girls Softball team, please attend a short informational meeting in Room 140 after school on Monday, November 5th.

Announcements:

 

The Boys 16 Inch Softball Team will be playing at UIC today (10/26) for the City Semi-Finals and Championship.  The Semi-Final is scheduled for 4:30pm and the Championship will be at 6:30pm. Please dress warm and come on out tonight to cheer on the team as they attempt to win their 10th City Championship in the 14 years of the sports existence.

Boys Swim Team conditioning has started. It is not too late join the team.

Come out to conditioning every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday day from 6:15am - 7:30am from now until Tryouts. Tryouts will take place on Monday November 19th at 6:15a-7:30a and 3:30p – 6:00p.

Meet in the Lunch Room at 6:00am for conditioning days and morning tryouts.

Please complete the following to participate in conditioning and tryout for the team. You cannot condition or tryout until completed. 

1) Registered online at  www.LaneTechAquatics.org under boys swimming. 

2) Have a Current IHSA Physical.

3) Go online and have your parents fill Athletics Forms under athletics at www.lanetech.org 

When conditioning and trying out, make sure to bring 

1) Workout attire including running shoes

2) Swimming attire

3) Reusable Water Bottle - Filled with ice and water

4) A good attitude and willingness to work hard

Congratulations to our various sports teams for their outstanding Fall seasons!  Here are some highlights and information:

Varsity Boys Soccer beat Evanston on Tuedsay 2-1.  They advance to Sectional Finals against Glenbrook North this Saturday at 3 p.m. at New Trier's West Campus

Varsity Football advances to the state playoffs for the first time since 2008.  They play Maine South this Saturday at 1 p.m. The game will be at Maine South.  Tickets may be purchased through Mr. Jarka in room 213.

Boys Cross Country won Regionals and Girls Cross Country placed 2nd.  Boys advance to sectionals this Saturday at Niles West High School.

The LTAC Boys Cross Country won their conference.

The LTAC Flag Football Team went undefeated in the regular season.

The girls track team will have info meetings on:

Monday Oct. 22 at 3:30 in room 112 (freshmen)

Tuesday Oct. 23 at 3:30 in room 112 (sophomores, juniors, seniors)

Congratulations to the Boys' Varsity Soccer team who defeated New Trier 1-0 in OT in the Regional Finals for the first time! They play Evanston on Tuesday, October 23 at 5 pm at New Trier (7 Haap Road) for the sectional semifinal. Come out and support the team!

Congratulations to many of our fall teams!!

-Varsity boys Soccer beat Niles West 2-0 in the Regional Semifinals and will play New Trier in the Regional Championship on Friday 10/19/12 at 7pm at New Trier West Campus. Come out to cheer them on!

-Varsity girls Cross Country won the City Championship and the varsity boys Cross Country team placed 2nd. Congrats to all of our Cross Country athletes!

-JV girls Volleyball won the City Championship on Tuesday night.

-LTAC Flag Football team is currently undefeated with a record of 5-0 and begin playoffs today (10/17/12)
