Cheerleading tryouts

Clinic Day #1 Lunchroom Tuesday, May 30th @4:00-6:30pm YOU MUST HAVE AN IHSA PHYSICAL. Athletes will learn one cheer, School Song, basic stunts and jumps. 1st cuts will be made if necessary. 

Clinic Day #2 Lunchroom Wednesday, May 31st @ 4:00-6:30pm You will possibly learn a dance and work on stunting skills. Tumbling skills will be evaluated.

FINAL TRYOUTS Lunchroom THURSDAY June 1st @ 4:00-6:30pm You will be judged on your appearance, jumps, stunts, cheer, dance, tumbling, and crowd appeal. YOU MUST TURN IN A REPORT CARD BY THIS DATE! 

Please wear: Your Lane Tech gym uniform, or any proper Lane Tech athletic wear, gym shoes, hair in a high ponytail with a bow. NO BANGS!  

Pablo Lopez named new Head Boys' Volleyball Coach

Please welcome Pablo Lopez to Lane Tech HS and to the Athletic Department. Pablo will be our new Varsity Boys Volleyball coach. Pablo comes to us from Von Steuben HS where his teams have won several city championships.

What is Recruiting Realities?

A presentation by Jack Renkens to coaches, counselors, student-athlete and their families that runs approximately 50 minutes. Jack has been assisting parents and student athletes for more than 30+ years, empowering their student-athletes by revealing the real process behind college recruiting.

Charles Rocha named Head Girls Softball Coach

Lane Tech is proud to announce the hiring of Charles Rocha as the new Varsity fast pitch softball coach. Mr. Rocha has a long history of successful coaching in fast pitch softball and we think he will make a great addition to the Lane Tech family. If you are interested in trying out for fast pitch softball and want to meet the new coach, please come to room 210 after school on Thursday 2/2/17.  The fast pitch softball team will still condition on Thursday morning at 6:20 am.

Girls Softball Meeting

There is a girls softball meeting on Friday January 20th in room 212 at 3:30 pm. If you are interested in trying out for girls softball you should attend the meeting. If you can not make the meeting please email Mr. Hofman at bshofman@cps.edu with any questions you have. 

Boys Basketball Tryouts

Boys Basketball tryouts will begin Monday, November 7th.  There will be an informational meeting if there are any other questions about tryouts that are not answered below.  The meeting will be held in room 220 after school on Thursday, 11/3.

Varsity tryouts:

Monday: 3:20 (Gym 1)

Sophomore tryouts:

Monday: 3:20 (Gym 1 and 2)

Freshmen tryouts:

Monday: 6:00 am (meet in the lunchroom)

Tuesday: 6:00 am (meet in the lunchroom)

NOTE: if you do not have an IHSA physical on file by the start of tryouts you will not be able to participate.

Anyone interested in trying out must have their IHSA physical and all electronic forms in compliance (found on our website at lanetech.org/athletics)
